Celebrating Sustainable Style at REstyle Dublin
This month we were delighted to be part of the REstyle Dublin Market – a celebration of sustainability, circular fashion and conscious shopping in the heart of Dublin.
As a family business, opportunities like this mean so much to us. They give us the chance to step away from our usual day in the shop and our screens to meet our wonderful customers in a lovely new space and connect with other businesses who believe, just as we do, that the future of fashion can be kinder to both people and the planet.
There was a lovely sense of community throughout the day. We met passionate makers, vintage curators, artists and sustainable brands, all working towards the same goal – encouraging people to think differently about how we buy, wear and value clothing.
At Lovely Things, we believe that children's clothing holds stories. Every tiny pair of dungarees, every beautifully knitted cardigan and every cute dress dress has already been part of someone's childhood and is ready to become part of another. Choosing pre-loved isn't about settling for less – it's about choosing quality, reducing waste and giving beautiful pieces the chance to be loved all over again.
One of the highlights of the day was chatting with families who had never considered buying pre-loved children's clothing before. Watching someone pick up a beautifully made vintage OshKosh dungaree, feel the quality and realise that sustainable fashion can be every bit as special as buying new is exactly why we do what we do.
Events like REstyle are so important because they start conversations. They help normalise shopping sustainably and show that choosing pre-loved doesn't mean compromising on style, quality or individuality. In fact, it's often the opposite. Some of the most treasured pieces in a child's wardrobe are the ones with a little history behind them.
We also loved catching up with familiar faces and meeting so many inspiring businesses who are pouring their hearts into building a more sustainable future. Running a small business can sometimes feel lonely, so spending a day surrounded by people who share similar values was genuinely uplifting.
A huge thank you to the REstyle Dublin team for inviting us to be part of such an ambitious event, and to everyone who stopped by our stall, had a chat, shared their own sustainable shopping stories or took home a new treasure for their little one.
