How to sell and donate to Lovely Things

Lovely Things love excellent quality baby and kids' clothing from 0 to 12 years. As parents, we know that selling your kid's clothes can be time-consuming and hard work! So, we aim to provide the easiest, clearest & most hassle-free service possible for you to pass on your baby and kids’ clothing.

*Update February 2023 - We have streamlined how we buy from you! We are delighted to say that there is usually a high demand to sell items to us, so until further notice slots must be pre-booked to send items in. We periodically open and close slots.  If you wish to receive notification of when seller slots open and book your slot, please subscribe to our mailing list on our home page.

The only exception to this is vintage wear or designer wear and donations of all clothing - see 'Donations' section below.

Lovely Things’ Quality Standards

What we love to buy:
  • Nearly all brands of clothing but we have very strict quality standards (see below for exclusions of certain brands).
  • All sizes of clothes up to 12 years of age in excellent condition, clean and freshly washed and ironed or new with tags or new with tags removed. Clothes which are not freshly washed will be rejected, and you will be asked to collect these items or have them posted back at your own cost. (We love to recirculate clothing but we simply cannot rewash and dry the number of items we receive.)
  • Fully functional (i.e. working zips, buttons, etc.) All items should be turned the right way around (not inside out) and buttons/poppers/zippers are done up.
What we cannot buy ☹
  • Clothes from smoking households. Please also note if items have any animal hair on them at all, or smell of smoke, then we have to reject the entire bundle.
  • Clothes with rips, pulls, holes, pilling, missing buttons or labels, obvious discolouration, cracked print or marker/pen marks.
  • Clothes with any stains, marks, excessive wash fade or that have become threadbare.
  • Clothing from ultra fast fashion online brands Asos, Boohoo & Shein.
  • Any items with names or year of birth that is out of date (e.g. 'Born in 2021')
  • Baby equipment/accessories.
  • Communion dresses/suits.
  • Fake or 'replica' designer wear.
  • Fancy-dress/costumes.
  • Holiday souvenirs.
  • Footwear/shoes.
  • Socks & underwear.
  • Sleeping bags (Gro-bags).

We strongly recommend that you check all items in daylight for all of the above before submitting them to us.

If you have any questions about these lists, please just let us know and we will very happy to chat with you.
